PRIMARY CONCEPTS
- Avalanche has gained a lot of traction and is currently leading in a key performance metric for blockchains.
- With its lightning-fast transaction speeds, real-world utility, and low prices, Kadena might be a breakthrough star.
They’ve got what it takes to be big victors in the coming year.
There are cryptocurrencies with larger market capitalizations than Shiba Inu, to be sure ( SHIB 6.96 percent ). This year, though, no digital coin has been a bigger winner. The Shiba Inu’s incredible increase of almost 66,000,000% puts it in a league of its own.
However, past performance does not always predict future success. In 2022, there are two cryptocurrencies that could beat Shiba Inu.
1. Avalanche
Shiba Inu (AVAX 1.62 percent ) was formerly rated higher than Avalanche (AVAX 1.62 percent ) in terms of market cap. Avalanche, on the other hand, pushed Shiba Inu to the side in November and hasn’t looked back. It’s now the market’s 12th-largest cryptocurrency, with Shiba Inu at No. 13.
The distinctive architecture of Avalanche is the key to its success. Avalanche uses three interoperable blockchains to circumvent the scalability issues and excessive prices associated with some platforms (cough, Ethereum (ETH 1.54%), cough).
Its platform can currently handle over 4,500 transactions per second. It has extremely cheap expenses. Avalanche’s time to finality (the time it takes for a transaction to be irreversibly appended) is less than two seconds, which is the fastest of any blockchain.
Developers have rushed to Avalanche, which is unsurprising. The Avalanche ecosystem presently has over 150 projects, and the number continues to expand. We’re not just talking about tiny businesses who have chosen Avalanche. Deloitte, a global accounting and consulting organization, aims to use the Avalanche blockchain to create a cloud-based disaster recovery platform.
Avalanche has been dubbed a “Ethereum killer” by some. I’m not sure I’d go that far. Ethereum, in my opinion, will continue to thrive for a long time. Avalanche, on the other hand, can be a “Shiba Inu beater” in the new year.
2. Kadena
The cryptocurrencies that are most likely to take off as Shiba Inu did in 2021 are ones that aren’t presently the most popular. But, in order to stand out from the crowd, these lesser-known tokens must have a lot going for them. Kadena (KDA) is one of the most likely candidates to break out in 2022, in my opinion.
Right now, Kadena isn’t exactly camped out in the middle of nowhere. On CoinMarketCap’s list of the top cryptocurrencies, it is ranked No. 67. Even after jumping more than 7,800 percent this year, Kadena may still have space to grow with a market worth of over $1.8 billion.
This bitcoin network has a long and illustrious history. Stuart Popejoy and Will Martino founded Kadena. JP Morgan’s initial blockchain was created by the two men working together. Popejoy was formerly the head of the firm’s fledgling blockchain division. Martino was the technical lead for the Cryptocurrency Steering Committee of the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Stuart Haber, the co-inventor of blockchain, is a member of Kadena’s advisory board.
However, pedigrees aren’t as significant as performance. And Kadena excels in this area. It has a transaction rate of 480,000 transactions per second. As more chains are added to the network, it will be able to grow to faster transaction rates. The throughput of Kadena has no limits.
Kadena also shines in terms of practicality. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including fractional NFTs not tethered to a particular exchange, are supported. The smart contracts developed by Kadena are extremely secure. It also has extremely low costs: consumers pay just negligible transaction fees, and businesses can fully eliminate transaction fees for their clients.
Of all, there’s no assurance that Kadena will be one of the most popular cryptocurrencies in 2022. It does, however, check off all of the necessary boxes to potentially defeat Shiba Inu.
